The Centre for Life in Newcastle upon Tyne is a science village where scientists, clinicians, educationalists and business people come together to promote advancement of the life sciences. In the last decade, their combined efforts have produced spectacular results and have secured Life’s reputation as a centre for world class science. Almost 500 people from 30 countries now work on site!

As the biggest and best Science Centre in the North of England, if you’re curious about the world around you, there’s something for you and your family at Life – whatever your age. There’s so much to do and it’s all included in the price of admission.

Journey to the stars in the region’s biggest planetarium theatre, hold-on tight on the Motion Ride, and laugh and learn with our amazing science explainers in a live science show in the Life Theatre. When you get your breath back, learn more about yourself in Human Life. Dress for the desert, touch the ice of the Arctic and smell the fish market in New York City oh, and watch out for the dinosaurs.

Sunday 11am – 6pm

* Last admission is 4pm, but is subject to seasonal variations.

In order to give yourself enough time to take in all of the shows and exhibitions, we advise that you allow at least 2-4 hours for your visit to Life, although you are welcome to just pop-in or stay all day long.
