Newcastle is easy to get to whether you're travelling by air, road, sea or rail. And, once you're here the City Centre and Quayside is so compact it's great to walk or cycle around, or simply jump on the quick and efficient Metro system or one of the many buses.
Please note that there are steep roads and paths leading to / from the quayside.

The International Ferry Terminal provides excellent passenger facilities with covered walkways, 6 check-in desks and automated baggage handling.
A Shields Ferry - either the Pride of the Tyne or the brand new Spirit of the Tyne - operates across the River Tyne between North and South Shields ferry landings every 30 minutes in each direction. The crossing takes about seven minutes.
Tyne and Wear Metro is a light rail system with 60 stations serving Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside. Rated as one of the country’s most efficient modes of transport and currently carry nearly 40 million passenger journeys per year.
