The International Ferry Terminal provides excellent passenger facilities with covered walkways, 6 check-in desks and automated baggage handling.

The Terminal has an annual throughput of 800,000 passengers, DFDS Seaways operate a daily passenger and freight service to Amsterdam with the m.s. KING OF SCANDINAVIA and the m.s. PRINCESS OF NORWAY operating on this route.

For those passengers arriving early, the terminal is located next to a factory outlet centre ‘Royal Quays’.  This established complex offers many of the well-known brands such as Marks and Spencer, Nike, Reebok and Thornton’s as well as cafes and a pub.

All berths are served by an excellent road system with direct access onto the A69, A19 and A1(M).  Taxis and direct bus links are available into Newcastle.  Extensive car and coach parking is also available at the terminal.  An additional strength of the Tyne is its close proximity to Newcastle airport, the region’s major international airport with a passenger throughput of over three million passengers per year.
